Well, I'm currently at work and have absolutely nothing else to do, so I figured that I should give this an update.

First of all, I NO LONGER WORK AT BORDERS! And I am so fucking incredibly excited about it that I seriously cannot stop talking about it.

So instead, I now work at the Grad Library and sometimes at the UGLI, too. I have been sitting at the UGLI circulation desk for about two hours and I have helped maybe a total of 5 people. This is my dream job.

I wish I had more to say so that I could waste more time, but alas, I lead a pretty boring life.

One other thing: If you were me and you had the option to double major in Art History, but it would mean you would have to take a class that interferes with the only class you want to take next semester on top of the fact that would have to take 14 Art History credit hours next semester, would you bother? I talked to my adviser and he said that double majoring was overrated. He said he has never seen a case where having the major instead of the minor prevented someone from getting a job or anything.

Anyway, I really like the idea of double majoring, but if it means I can't take the one class I want to take and instead have to take Ancient Iranian Art History instead, I'm not quite sure...

I am happier today. And somehow, I did not hate being at Borders. I got sick of being at the register so I finally said, hey, someone else should do this shit and I went and reshelved. That is way more entertaining, and I'm way quicker at putting the thousands of magazines away than most. Anyway, it wasn't so bad.

Speaking of Borders, it's not doing so well. I think they cut the inventory in half and got rid of all the DVDs and CDs. They also moved everything around and I have no idea where the weed cookbooks are now. And I couldn't find the language reference section. Manga is upstairs? Art is where the DVD's used to be? Every single person I talk to complains. But people are really good at that anyway.

Also, I ate a meal for the first time in like five days today. It made me feel extremely sick and I could only get down like half of my six inch sub, but it's better than eating like ten crackers a day. Maybe I'll try to eat more tomorrow?

So super extreme scary Spanish starts in two days. I'm not sure if I'm ready, but I guess I'm going to have to be. I bought the text book and I can read some of it. But I'll continue to do Rosetta Stone until them. But just think, in six weeks I will never have to deal with the Spanish language again. And you will probably never have to hear me talk about it either. It's a win-win I think.

Another creepy guy stopped me on the street today. No, I do not want to get coffee with some random person. Do people actually think that that works? Someone has to be falling for it or I can't imagine people would continue to do it.

I'm not a particularly sentimental person when it comes to celebrity deaths, but when the guy who dances to Michael Jackson in the graffiti alley was going at it today, I was kind of sad.

Okay, this is way more than usual. Goes hand and hand with the good mood I suppose. Hope all are well.

KBQ

Since I don't really feel like reading anymore today, I'm going to try and crate a proper entry.

I've been freaked out lately because there have been more and more cases of MS in families (ie father and son both having it) and now I feel like my life could turn out just like my mom's. I could be living a regular life and then bam, I'm in a wheelchair and have to be taken care of. I don't even know how she does it. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. Everyone is always saying live your life to the fullest and treat each day as if it were your last, but that's so hard to do. There's rarely anytime for fun, life is so planned out anymore. I mean, I have to go to college and then get a job and get married and have kids and all of these other things that people have already decided for me. If my life is going to stop at the age of 35, then I don't think I should be worrying about any of that stuff. But I'm going to anyway, because who the hell knows what is going to happen. I just can't get the idea out of my head. There aren't a whole lot of cases where multiple generations get it, because it seems to be more environmental (there are like 20 reported cases in the small neighborhood my mom grew up in), but that is the environment I grew up in too. I just see how hard it is for her and I can't imagine myself ever being that strong.

In other news, not having the internet gives you a lot of time to think.

I actually got to interact with someone kind of sweet at work yesterday. Now, it's not anyone super famous, but my mom was really excited and Brad at work was, too. So it was Lloyd Carr. He was returning an Alan Jackson CD that he had gotten someone because instead of Jackson's disk being inside, there was a blank disk.

And the filming of that movie that they're doing here is kind of cool. They built this bakery front on one of the clubs here and then drove a car into it yesterday. Poor fake bakery.

Um, what else. Best Buy called me to set up an interview, but I think the timing is quite bad. I'm only in Ann Arbor for 12 more days and then school starts. But I would love to have a discount there.

I decided to be really crazy and not get internet or cable next year at my apartment. <lj:music>The New Trio Album</lj:music>

Some funny (and slightly sad) things that people have bought at Borders lately:

A book titled: Emotional Vampires: Dealing With People Who Drain You Dry.
A gun manual and a Larry the Cable Guy book to a very young boy.
A book about what to do when your grown child disappoints you.

Yesterday I brought in some cupcakes to work and as I was leaving two of my bosses stopped me to talk about my baking. The one said he knew this bakery owner in Chicago and if I ever moved there and needed a job he could hook me up. My other boss then says, yeah I'm actually really good friends with a baker in town, have you heard of Cake Nouveau? And I'm like of course, their cakes are bad ass. So she says that if I wanted to get a job there or even just go and learn some stuff I could use her as a reference. So I'm really thinking about going and talking to her. I guess she likes to hire people who don't necessarily have any baking experience, but have a creative eye. Plus, my boss talked to me again about it today, saying I should really look into it, so I feel like I pretty much have an in.

Here is one of the cakes that I thought you people who read my lj would like:

I just downloaded Buzz Ballads because I am that cool. <lj:music>Big Love</lj:music>

Everyone will be happy to know that my Borders Rewards numbers are up. But I officially miss everything good that happens at Borders. Yesterday when I was on my lunch break, Drew Barrymore came in and bought a Coldplay CD. Apparently her and Ellen Page are in town filming a new movie.

I watched one and a half seasons of Big Love and I'm not really sure why. I guess since I've started it (and I have nothing better to do) I feel like I should finish it. I'm totes shipping the sixteen-year-old son and the youngest wife. It's only a five year difference.

Kristine and I have gone on a couple dates lately and it's going quite well. I'm really fond of her. However, lousy service follows everywhere. We had the most painfully awkward waitress today. And we saw Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. It had it's moments, but I'm glad I only payed a buck for it.

Kristine just woke up to go to work. Crazy.

Well, there's not much else to say. I miss watching the OC, Lindsay. I don't know what will keep me from watching season 4.

And Autumn, I'm sorry I didn't reply to your last comment. I'm really bad at that. You don't ever really read this, but I'm sorry that I'm a crazy person and it shouldn't of taken me this long to realize it. I never really understood before, but what you say about me is true, and I understand why you didn't want to put up with it anymore.

IV. No more being uptight because of the aforementioned a.

So this entry is really just for me, but I am realizing some things about myself. And I want to change them.
